Drainage Concrete
Draining, High-performance concrete designed to mitigate urban heat islands.
DrainBeton® is patented drainage concrete.
DrainBeton® is a specialized, high-performance drainage concrete designed for various applications.
DrainBeton® can be used in single-layer configuration (with natural or pigmented coloring).
DrainBeton® can be overlaid with a wearing layer of draining bituminous conglomerate to create double-draining/sound-absorbing pavements.
DrainBeton® has workability characteristics that allow for installation using a road paver.
Due to its characteristics and performance, DrainBeton® can contribute to achieving high ratings under major construction sustainability protocols (LEED, ITACA, BREEAM).

Low maintenance
DrainBeton® is able to maintain its physical-mechanical and aesthetic characteristics over time and therefore does not require special maintenance operations. For applications in areas prone to large amounts of debris or dust, the draining capacity can be restored through cleaning with high-pressure water and the use of a sweeper machine.
Anti-icing
DrainBeton’s open matrix allows continuous air recirculation, which accelerates the melting process of snow and ice, reducing the removal and clearing operations during the winter season. The presence of interconnected voids also allows any stagnant water to expand freely in case of freezing.
Durability
Already about 5-7 days after being laid, DrainBeton® reaches sufficient strength to allow the road to be opened to vehicular traffic. The high strength of DrainBeton® allows the material to be used for road pavements with high traffic volumes.
Drainability
The high percentage of interconnected voids allows DrainBeton® to drain significant rainfall events while still ensuring high load-bearing capacity.
Hydrogeological mitigation
The excellent drainage characteristics make DrainBeton particularly suitable for implementing projects in environmentally protected areas, where the return of rainwater to the ground is required; it reduces the need for rainwater treatment.
Environmentally Low-Impact
cold laying
DrainBeton® uses a ‘cold’ application method compared to other processes. This results in reduced emissions of fumes into the air and lower risks for operators, while also saving raw materials and significantly reducing energy consumption.
Fire resistant
DrainBeton® is resistant to hydrocarbons and fire. This allows the use of the material also in areas particularly at risk of fire (e.g., parking lots, service stations, fuel depots, etc.).
Heat island effect reduction
The light color of the material, combined with the high porosity of the mixture, results in lower thermal absorption than bituminous conglomerates, ensuring the maintenance of low temperatures on exposed surfaces. These features of DrainBeton® allow for faster temperature dissipation and mitigation of the heat island effect.
Main features
For DrainBeton®, is used selected natural aggregate derived from the crushing process.

Installation methods:
DrainBeton® is able to meet the different needs of the construction site by improving laying times and construction costs.
The installation can be done manually or with road paver.
The construction company must have experience and professionalism in concrete drainage paving.
Characteristics of the installation plan
It is the subbase on which the floor is laid. It must be suitable to withstand the loads required by the intended use and ensure adequate water drainage.
DRAINBETON®
Manual laying
DrainBeton® can be laid manually by skilled installers, using light mechanical tools (manual screed, power trowel with special disc, roller screed).
DRAINBETON®
Road paver
Laying with a road paver occurs in a manner very similar to that of bituminous conglomerates, but at room temperature and with significantly reduced emissions.
